Convention & Visitor's Bureau
The Shawnee Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (CVB) is a committee of representatives from tourism-related businesses to promote tourism of the Shawnee area — its hotels, attractions, restaurants and related tourism businesses, to make an economic impact in the community. Appointments to the committee come as recommendations from the CVB Committee for appointment by the mayor and approval by the governing body.
The core programs of the CVB include the website www.allinadaysfun.com as a key resource for tourism information. All inquiries for tourism and relocation information, group tours and hotel requests are handled by staff. In addition, area attraction rack cards and visitors guides are distributed through various locations and traveler information centers throughout the state and metropolitan area. In addition, the CVB produces a comprehensive visitor’s guide and distributes the Chamber’s Living in Shawnee magazine. The CVB also places a limited amount of advertising and direct marketing for destination visitors. Key emphasis is placed on joint marketing efforts with state and area tourism agencies and community events.
